Why do you like it? – Introduction
In this lesson you
will learn how to ask for reasons and answer questions if someone asks you for
the reason of anything you say. You will
also learn how to comment on different objects.
1- Why do you like dogs? : This sentence is used to ask for
a reason and more information.
2- Because they're (are) friendly: This sentence is used to
explain and give reasons when someone asks you about the reason behind a
certain thing you said usually using "why" in the question.
3- Here's (is) a lamp which looks nice: This sentence is
used to comment on an object positively.
4- Here's one which isn't expensive: This sentence is used
in everyday situations when you are shopping for a certain object and here the
person refers to the price of the object which means it’s a good price.
5- These lamps are the same: This sentence is used to
indicate that two objects are the same and there is no difference between them.
6- These lamps are different: This sentence is used to
indicate that two objects are nr the same and they are different.
7- Take it back to the shop: This sentence is used to tell
someone to take a certain object back to the shop usually to return it or
change size such as shoes.
8- He always makes some noise: This sentence is used to
comment on someone's behavior and in this situation it is the noise made by
someone.
9- What is the food like? : This sentence is used to ask
about someone's opinion and here is to ask about the food whether it is good or
not.
10- I prefer a small town or a village: This sentence is
used to confirm your opinion when you are asked what do you like or prefer.
11- What do you think of this? : This sentence is used to
ask for someone's opinion.
12- That looks nice: This sentence is used when you are
asked for your opinion and you want to give a positive answer about it.
13- It looks quite but it is five kilometers from the sea:
This sentence is used when you are asked about a place and you want to comment
o give your opinion about it, and also adding some description to it.
