Easy English Lesson 21: Welcome to Britain
In this lesson you
will learn different phrases to say in different situations. You will learn how
to ask about someone's country and nationality, you will also learn to ask and
answer various questions
about a person's occupation and address.
English Speaking Practice
1- Where do you come from? : This sentence is used to ask
someone about his or her country.
2- I am from Greece: This sentence is used to express your
original country where you come from, usually used when you live in a different
country than the country you were born in.
3- What is your nationality? : This sentence is used to ask
about someone's official right to belong to a particular country, which is the
country where this person was born in.
4- I'm Greek: This sentence is used to express your
nationality.
5- Are you Japanese? : This sentence is used to ask about
someone's nationality.
6- Do you speak Chinese? : This sentence is used to ask
someone if he or she can speak a certain language.
7- Do you like German accent? : This sentence is used to ask
about a certain language's accent, and accent means the way in which people in
a particular area or country pronounce words.
8- What town do you live in? : This sentence is used to ask
for more specific information which is the town where someone lives in which is
smaller than a city.
9- What's (is) your job? : This sentence is used to ask
about someone's job which is a regular work which someone does to earn money.
10- What do you do for a living? This sentence is also used
to ask about someone's job.
11- I work for the central bank: This sentence is used to
talk about your work place and tell someone which institute or company you work
for.
12- Where do you live? : This sentence is used to ask
someone's home and place of living.
13- I live in Sidney, Australia: This sentence is used to
give information about the city and country you live in, note that when you
specify the city and the country where you live you should put the city name
first before the country name.
14- I am an accountant: This sentence is used to tell your
job or occupation.
15- What do you do? : This sentence is another way to ask
about someone's job.

What is your address? : This sentence is used to ask about someone's number of
the house, name of the road and town where a person live
